Four cut-out Yes designs by Vance MacDonald from Ballachulish

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. That isn't a quote from Meg Ryan but a description of the four cut-out Yes designs by Vance MacDonald from Ballachulish. Vance and his friends, Jimmy and Freda Waugh, who do the painting, are part of the liitle hive of Yes activity in Lochaber's Independence Corner otherwise known as West Laroch.

It seems every resident of West Laroch have Yes posters in their houses and Yes stickers in their cars and now lots of the stylised Yes cut-outs are starting to appear in the village too. The Yes cut-outs shown in the photos above are templates which Vance uses to trace round before cutting the almost finished item using a jigsaw. The freshly cut Yes boards are then given an undercoat in white by Jimmy and Freda. A final top coat in any colour to contrast with the surface they will be mounted onto is applied by the recipient.

Congratulations to Vance, Jimmy, Freda and all the others in Ballachulish for bringing a sense of style and fun to the referendum campaign.

More photos of the production process to follow soon.
