The main line-up for the night includes:-

  • Acclaimed author and poet Alan Bissett, winner of the Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Writer of the Year 2011. Alan will perform some of his poetry on the theme of independence.
  • Singer-songwriter Davy Holt, whose second album 'Newtonmore Shinty Anthems' is well known locally.
  • Singer-songwriter Ailsa Villegas, member of The Cask, whose Celtic Connections performance of local bard Gilly's song, Let Alba Shine! drew rave reviews.* Ailsa produced the soundtrack to 'Caledonia' a wildlife photography DVD by Peter Cairns in 2012 and in 2014 has been invited to produce a song for the Kingussie "Food on Film" festival. Ailsa will play acoustic guitar at this gig although she also experiments with electronic and trance sounds.

"This was a powerful reminder of one of the natural advantages that the Yes campaign possess, which is that it's much easier to get a generous reaction when you're asking people to positively embrace an exciting new idea"

Organiser Erin McBean said "The YES! Campaign is about independence in every sense. Music and art allow us the freedom to explore how we feel. We want to enjoy ourselves, have fun and make our own entertainment. Songs, poems, music and meeting together for the crac are all part of our heritage and that's all part of the fun of this campaign. If you have written a poem or a song, come along and let us hear it."

The evening will be hosted by Richard Laird.

      Everybody welcome. Admission free.
