A collection of videos to inform, and entertain, the inquisitive voter on Scottish independence and the referendum. All videos will have their content described and tagged to make finding them easier.

Yes Highland TV

This collection of video resources, which we are calling Yes Highland TV, has three broad aims:

  • to inform the debate around Scottish independence and the referendum
  • to provide a handy reference library with searchable content descriptions and tagging to make finding things easier
  • to entertain.

If we had impartial print and broadcast media we might not feel the need to provide such a service but that is not the situation in Scotland today. That the mainstream national and local print media is almost wholly owned and controlled from outwith Scotland and tends to be against independence we could accept as an unfortunate commercial reality. After all people are free to choose and buy the newspapers on offer. Much more galling is to have a state broadcaster, funded by every TV licence holder, often seeming to act as a mouthpiece of the No campaign.

This is our wee bit to redress the balance and on the day the death of Tony Benn was announced it is fitting to remember that he once said "Broadcasting is really too important to be left to the broadcasters."

Please note we have only just launched this page (14 March 2014) and more videos will be added over the next few weeks. However, if there are any videos you think really should be included please get in touch and let us know or add a comment at the bottom of this page (you must provide links to any requested videos).

If you would like to keep abreast of new videos as they are added to this page please use the TV RSS feed.
